Training on Improving Speaking in an Effort to Enhance the Students’ Soft Skills at Universitas Harapan Medan

Abstract

The aim of this training is to improve speaking especially in English to improve the soft skills of students of Universitas Harapan Medan. Students should be encouraged as optimally as possible to dig into the experience of student activities in order to have more value. In fact, there is a fairly high gap between the mastery of soft skills students with the needs in the world of work, so new graduates fail to meet the expectations of entrepreneurs in the development of soft skills. Equally important mastery of soft skills for students makes the study of soft skills remain relevant as the rapid and complex changes that require improved mastery of software skills so that when graduated later more ready to plunge into the world, the business world at the same time as a potential leader in the midst of society. As for the methods used in this training, the first phase is to select the subject of the discussion, the second phase limits the topic of the conversation, the third phase collects the materials, the fourth phase compiles the materials, the fifth phase performs confidently and the last phase of evaluation.
