Counseling on the Implementation of Merdeka Curriculum in Shaping the Character of Learners at SAS English Laboratory
Abstract
There are several factors that cause why SAS English Laboratory has not implemented an independent curriculum. Such as the absence of direct socialization carried out by the local Education Office regarding the implementation of the independent curriculum, the existence of a mainset of challenges for teachers in implementing the independent curriculum including making teaching modules and implementing the Pancasila student profile when the independent curriculum is implemented. The location of this community service is the SAS Foundation which is located in East Medan District, Medan City. The objectives in implementing this community service program are: Teachers can implement the independent curriculum in shaping the character of students at SAS English Laboratory. The method used is by conducting counseling then carrying out observations and distributing questionnaires to activity participants. The results obtained in this service are an increase in the understanding of teachers about bullying in schools, this is evidenced by the results of the questionnaire of activity participants from the average percentage of pre-test questionnaires of 36% and post-test of 97%. Outputs in the form of scientific articles published in non-accredited national journals, published online newspapers and final reports along with video documentation of community service activities uploaded to Youtube accounts. This community service activity is expected to continue and present the latest material needed by teachers in learning activities at school.
