Padlet Socialization to Enhance Teacher Creativity in English Teaching at Junior High School (SMP) Islam Terpadu Daarul Istiqlal Medan Norts Sumatera
Abstract
Abstract: This study explores the use of Padlet, a free online application akin to an interactive whiteboard, in educational settings. Padlet facilitates collaborative note-taking by allowing teachers and students to share multimedia content, including links, videos, and documents on shared boards. The application serves various educational functions, including brainstorming, assessing understanding, compiling research, and testing student knowledge. The research employs a four-step method: lectures, demonstrations, practice, and evaluations. Initial observations revealed a 58% understanding level among participants, which increased to 70% after demonstrations. Following hands-on practice, understanding rose to 84%, with participants actively using Padlet on their devices. The final evaluation step recorded a further increase to 90%, reflecting enhanced engagement and comprehension. The findings suggest that integrating Padlet into educational technology courses can foster creativity and innovation among educators, making learning more dynamic and engaging. This study highlights the effectiveness of Padlet as a tool for enhancing English language instruction at SMP IT Daarul Istiqlal, equipping teachers with valuable methods to enrich their teaching practices.
