Community Service Program for Implementing the Strengthening Project of Pancasila Student Profiles (P5) Based on Character Education in the Independent Curriculum Private Elementary School at Amir Hamzah Medan Petisah

Abstract

Independent Curriculum provides educators with the flexibility to create high-quality learning experiences tailored to the learning needs of students. The implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) Based on Character Education within the Independent Curriculum at Amir Hamzah Private Elementary School in Medan Petisah is a co-curricular project-based activity designed to strengthen efforts to achieve competencies and character in line with the Pancasila Student Profile, which is structured according to the Graduate Competency Standards. Therefore, the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project, as one of the means to achieve the Pancasila Student Profile, offers students the opportunity to "experience knowledge" as a process of character strengthening while also providing a chance to learn from their surrounding environment. The objectives of this community partnership program (PKM) implementation are: (1) To form a teacher working group as a means to facilitate teachers' knowledge of the use of information technology in learning. (2) To enhance the use of learning media in the teaching and learning process. (3) To implement the P5 Based on Character Education in the Independent Curriculum. The outcome is that teachers can apply the P5 Based on Character Education as interdisciplinary learning to observe and think about solutions to problems in the surrounding environment, thereby strengthening various competencies within the Pancasila Student Profile. The percentage of teachers' understanding of the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project based on character education in the Independent Curriculum is as follows: 57% of teachers participated and were enthusiastic in attending the training. 27% of teachers raised questions regarding the challenges they might face when conducting the activity, and 16% made statements related to the activity. The training implementation method includes four stages: (1) introduction, (2) socialization and audience, (3) training, and (4) evaluation. The PKM service partner for this project is Amir Hamzah Private Elementary School in Medan Petisah.
