Empowerment of Community Groups in Ujung Rambe Village to produce biobriquettes made from waste using the TOLAP method
Abstract
Uncontrolled waste accumulation occurs in Ujung Rambe Village, North Sumatera, Indonesia as a result of home industry and agricultural waste. Meanwhile, on the other hand, this village is experiencing a clean water crisis. Inspection of one of the well water sources resulted in the results of heavy metals such as Fe, Mn, Zn and Pb (1.451; 1.310; 18.403 and 2.17) exceeding the standard limits for the quality of clean water that is suitable for use for hygienic sanitation purposes according to PP Number 66 2014 concerning Environmental Health. This Community Partnership Program aims to overcome the volume of waste through making environmentally friendly nanopurifier biobriquettes using the TOLAP method. The TOLAP method (Direct Waste Processing Site without Sorting) is carried out in Ujung Rambe Village by creating a special place/area to produce nanopurifier biobriquettes. Several activities related to the waste problem which are very urgent include carrying out empowerment in the form of socialization (providing) and special and direct training so that it can increase the knowledge and skills of the community.
