Manufacture of Hand Wash Soap from Guava Leaves

Abstract

Hand washing soap is a special soap that can clean hands from germs and dust and keep skin smooth and soft. After the Covid-19 pandemic, the use of hand washing soap has increased. This increase occurred due to adapting to new habits of always washing hands before and after activities. The aim of this education is for the public to understand that washing hands is very important to prevent the entry of germs, viruses and bacteria through the mouth, nose and eyes. As time goes by, innovation regarding herbal plants continues to develop and many antibacterial studies have been studied. One plant that has been proven to inhibit the growth of bacteria is guava leaves. The method used in this activity is to provide counseling in the form of an interactive lecture regarding how to make hand washing soap from guava leaves. Service activities were carried out at the UMN Al-Washliyah Pharmacy Pharmacy. As a result of this service, the community responded quite enthusiastically and felt grateful to gain additional knowledge regarding making liquid hand washing soap from guava leaves
