The Analysis of Compounding and Acronyms in the Guardian’s News Article

Abstract
This research aimed to find out the compounds and acronyms in the Guardian Article. The method used was qualitative method. The source of data was the Guardian article on online news. The technique of analysing data was by finding the words in compounds or in acronyms. The result of this research was that there are 31 (thirty-one) data of attributive compounds, 20 (twenty) data of subordinative compounds, 11 (eleven) data of coordinative compounds and 8 data of acronyms found in the five articles. The data showed that compounds are dominant found and it indicated that compounds could make a sentence to effective. The Guardian article as the news article should give the sentence that impress the reader.
