Enhancing Students' Technological Preparedness and Character to Compete Worldwide in the Future International Job Market
Abstract
The development of Science and Technology has become necessary for every lecturer and student to implement innovative and creative learning, for future needs. Currently, students are not only able to understand the material in terms of hard skills but also capable of developing and exploring it in the form of soft skills. This has become an important activity for higher education to collaborate with the industrial world on a global scale. The purpose of this service is to guide Indonesian lecturers that the industrial world and the future job market require resilient and proactive human resources who can keep up with technological developments and are active English speakers. The method used in this activity is the Knowledge Transfer Program, where teams from Swivelt Singapore, Google Malaysia, and SAS English Laboratory provide education on the importance of teamwork collaboration, interpersonal communication, and English language proficiency in the workplace. The results obtained are (1) Reinforcing English in every lesson through appropriate materials; (2) Implementing interdisciplinary study groups through case study learning and project-based learning with the integration of digital multimedia or digital platforms; and (3) Increasing lecturers' understanding of the urgency of international field practice in strengthening graduate outcomes, indicated by a high gain value of 0.72.
