Training of English Speaking Skill “Formal And Informal Expressions” Using Green School-Based Collaborative Strategy

Abstrak

This traning focuses on implementation of collaborative strategy based on green school program to make English speaking skill “formal and informal expressions” of the students of SMP Yayasan Swasta Al-Razi Sinar Harapan better. There is an “English day” program in that school to practice the students’ speaking skill. Many students don’t understand the expressions they can use to communicate in English with their friends or with their teachers. Therefore, this training tim inisiate to conduct training of English speaking skill “formal and informal expressions” of the students of SMP Yayasan Swasta Al-Razi Sinar Harapan using interesting learning strategy. The strategy is collaborative strategy based on green school program. Collaborative strategy is a kind of modern learning strategy which focuses on students’ activities. This strategy will be unique and more interesting if it’s combined with green school program, one of the main programs of SMP Yayasan Swasta Al-Razi Sinar Harapan. Training using this strategy can be held at green area the school has. New learning situation and interesting learning strategy will be the basic for the students to be more active and creative in learning process. Finally, their skill will be better.
